gearbox, removal of the spray tank is recommended in
the following procedure. As an alternative, the engine
mounting plate can be lowered from the machine to ac-
cessthegearbox(seeEngineMountingPlateAssembly
intheServiceandRepairssectionofChapter3 -- Kohler
Gasoline Engine).

The engine, exhaust system and drive compo-
nentsmay behot. To avoidpossible burns,allow
all components to cool before working on the
pump drive gearbox.
