InstallingInnerHousingComponents(continued)
1.Assembletheinnerhousingifitwasdisassembled;refertoInstallingthe
RotorShaft(page6–11).
2.Positiontheinnerhousingassemblyonsupportswiththerotorshaftpointing
up.Carefullylowertheouterhousingaroundinnerhousingassembly.
Place14.3mm(9/16inch)thickspacersbetweenthesupportsandthe
outerhousing.Thisarrangementwillalignandstabilizetheinnerandouter
housingassembliesduringtheserviceprocedure;refertoFigure44.
3.Installthe4supportns(item5)asfollows:
A.Positionthesupportnsbetweentheinnerandouterhousing.
B.Determineifoneormoreshimsarerequiredtoremoveanyspace
betweenasupportnandtheouterhousing.
Note:Ifmultipleshimswererequiredbetweenasupportnandtheouter
housing,centertheinnerhousingintheouterhousingbydividingthe
numberofshimsevenlyoneachsideoftheassembly.
C.Usemediumstrengththreadlockingcompoundandinstallall8cap
screwsngertight.Tightenthecapscrewsfrom10to11N·m(7to
8ft-lb).
4.Installthe24statorvanes(item2)asfollows:
A.Positionavanebetweentheinnerandouterhousing.Therounded
edgeofthevanemustbeupward(towardthefrontoftheblower)andits
mountinglugstowardtheinnerhousing.
B.Tiltthevaneandengagethemountinglugswiththeinnerhousingholes.
Whilekeepingthevanelugsintheinnerhousingholes,rotatethevaneto
alignthethreadedholeofthevanewithouterhousinghole.
IMPORTANT
Beverycarefulnottocross-threadthestatorvanecapscrews
duringassembly.
Note:Newstatorvanecapscrewshaveathreadlockingcompound
pre-applied.Ifinstallingausedstatorvanecapscrew,applyamedium
strengththreadlockingcompoundduringassembly.
C.Installacapscrew(item3)intothethreadsofthestatorvaneandtighten
thescrewngertight.
D.RepeatstepsACforalloftheremainingstatorvanes.
IMPORTANT
Overtighteningthestatorvanescrewscandamagethethreadsin
thestatorvanes.Usehandtoolsonlyanddonotovertightenthe
statorvanecapscrews.
E.Useacrossingpatternandtightenthestatorvanecapscrewsfrom1.2to
1.4N·m(10to12in-lb).
5.Checkeachstatorvaneandsupportnforlooseness.Correctanyloose,
improperlyinstalled,ordamagedstatorvaneorsupportnbeforeproceeding.
