IMPORTANT
Becarefulwhenremovingthebatterycablesandensurethatyoudo
notdamagetheterminalpostsorcableconnectors.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutofftheengine,andremovethekey
fromthekeyswitch.Blockthewheelswithchockstopreventthemachine
frommoving.
2.Removethebatterycover.
3.Loosenandremovethenegative(-)cablefromthebattery.Positionthe
disconnectedcableawayfromthebattery.
4.Disconnectthepositivecable(+)fromthebattery.
5.Removethecarriagescrewandangenutthatsecuresthebatteryretainer.
6.Carefullyremovethebatteryfromthemachine.
7.Installthebatteryinreverseorder.
8.Connectandtightenthepositive(+)cabletothebatterybeforeconnecting
negative(-)cable.Tightenthebatteryterminalnutsfrom14to20N·m(10
to15ft-lb).
9.Applyathincoatingofbatteryterminalprotectortothebatterycable
terminals;refertoBatteryTerminalProtector(page2–12).
10.Installthebatterycover.
