themachinecontroltower.TheTECcontrollerusesthediagnosticlight(output)
tonotifytheoperatorortheservicetechnicianofanissuethatmayexistwiththe
machine;refertoUsingtheOnboardDiagnosticLamp(page3–3).
TestingtheDiagnosticLamp
1.MakesurethatkeyswitchisOFFandkeyisremovedfromtheswitch.
2.Disconnectthediagnosticlightconnectorfromthewireharness.
Note:ThediagnosticlightisanLightEmittingDiode(LED)andistherefore
polaritysensitive.
3.Connecta12VDCpowersource(machinebattery)tothediagnosticlight
terminals.Thelightshouldonlyilluminatewhenthepositive(+)leadofthe
powersupplyisconnectedtothepositive(+)redwire,andthenegative(-)
leadofthepowersupplyisconnectedtothenegative(-)blackwire.
4.Replacethediagnosticlightifnecessary.
5.Ifthediagnosticlighttestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,check
thewireharness;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
6.Installthediagnosticlightifnecessaryandconnectthewireharnessafter
testing.
