1. Park machineonalevelsurface,lower cutting units,
stop engine, engage parking brake and remove key
from the ignition switch.
2. Removecuttingunitfromrearliftarmtoberemoved.
3. Remove one retaining r ing (item 32) and thrust
washer (item 31) from the cylinder pin (item30) that se-
curestheliftcylinder rod end to lift arm. Pull cylinderpin
fromtheliftcylinderandliftarm.Locateandretrievesec-
ond thrust washer.
4. Pivot lift cylinder rod end away from lift arm.
CAUTION
Be careful when removing tension from the tor-
sionspringontherearliftarms.Thespringisun-
der heavy load and may cause personal injury.
5. Removetensionfromtorsionspringonrearofliftarm
pivot pin.
A. Insert nut driver or small piece of pipe onto the
endofthetorsionspringthatissecuredontherearof
the lift arm pivot pin.
