TensioningtheAlternatorBelt
1.Openthehood.
2.Checkthetensionofthealternatorbeltbydepressing
it(Figure76)midwaybetweenthealternatorandthe
crankshaftpulleyswith22lb(10kg)offorce.

Thebeltshoulddeect7/16inch(11mm).Ifthe
deectionisincorrect,proceedtostep3.Ifcorrect,
continueoperation.
3.Loosentheboltsecuringthebracetotheengine
(Figure76),theboltsecuringthealternatortothe
braceandthepivotbolt.
4.Insertaprybarbetweenthealternatorandthe
engineandpryoutonthealternator.
5.Whenyouachievethepropertension,tighten
thealternator,braceandpivotboltstosecurethe
adjustment.
HydraulicSystem
Maintenance
ChangingtheHydraulicFluid
Changehydraulicuidafterevery800operatinghours,
innormalconditions.Ifuidbecomescontaminated,
contactyourlocalTorodistributorbecausethesystem
mustbeushed.Contaminateduidlooksmilkyor
blackwhencomparedtocleanoil.
1.Stoptheengineandraisethehood.
2.Placealargedrainpanunderthettingsecured
tothebottomofthehydraulicuidreservoir
(Figure77).

3.Disconnectthehosefromthebottomofthetting
andletthehydraulicuidowintothedrainpan.
4.Installthehosewhenhydraulicuidstopsdraining.
5.Fillthereservoirwithapproximately8U.S.gallons
(30l)ofhydraulicuid;refertoCheckingthe
HydraulicFluidin,page.
Important:Useonlyhydraulicuidsspecied.
Otheruidscouldcausesystemdamage.
6.Installthereservoircap.
7.Starttheengineanduseallofthehydrauliccontrols
todistributehydraulicuidthroughoutthesystem.
Alsocheckforleaks.
8.Stoptheengine.
9.Checkthelevelofthehydraulicuidandaddenough
toraiseleveltotheFullmarkonthedipstick.
