Thecuttingunitdownlimitswitchisanormallyopenproximityswitchthatcloses
whenthefront,outsidecuttingunitsareintheturn-aroundposition.Thedown
limitswitchisattachedtoaframebracketinsidethefront,rightliftarmpivot
tube.Abracketonthefront,rightliftarmactsasthesensingplateforthedown
limitswitch(Figure249).
TheT oroElectronicController(TEC)monitorstheoperationofthecuttingunit
downlimitswitch.
TestingtheDownLimitSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnectthedownlimitswitchfortesting,ensurethatyoutest
theswitchanditscircuitwiringasaTECelectricalinputwiththeInfoCenter
display;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page
7–28).
3.IftheInfoCenterveriesthatthedownlimitswitchandcircuitwiringare
functioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.IftheInfoCenterdeterminesthatthedownlimitswitchandcircuitwiringare
notfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Locatethedownlimitswitch(Figure249).
6.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)andcheck
theLEDonthecableendofthedownlimitswitch.
7.ThedownlimitswitchLEDshouldbeilluminatedwhenthecuttingunitsare
lowered.TheLEDshouldnotbeilluminatedwhenthecuttingunitsareraised
totheturn-aroundposition.
8.IfthedownlimitswitchLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly,dothefollowing:
A.Ensurethatthedownlimitswitchisproperlyadjusted;refertoAdjusting
theCuttingUnitDownLimitSwitch(page7–51).Ifnecessary,adjustthe
switchandreturntostep6.
