Ifitemsotherthanthecylindersealsarewornordamaged,thecylindermust
bereplacedasacompleteassembly.Disassemble,inspect,andassemblethe
cylinderforinspectionandsealreplacementonly.
DisassemblingtheRearLiftCylinder
RefertoFigure63forthisprocedure.
1.Removehydraulicuidfromthecylinderintoadrainpanbyslowlypumping
thecylindershaft.Plugbothportsandcleantheoutsideofthecylinder.
2.Securethecylinderinavisebylightlyclampingonthemountingcollaron
thebarrel.
3.Removetheretainingringfromtheheadandbarrel:
A.Usingaspannerwrench,rotatetheheadclockwiseuntiltheedgeofthe
retainingringappearsinthebarrelopening.
B.Insertascrewdriverunderthebevelededgeoftheretainingringtostart
theretainingringoutthebarrelopening.
C.Rotatetheheadcounterclockwisetofullyremoveretainingring.
4.Removetheplugsfromtheports.Extracttheshaft,headandpistonby
carefullytwistingandpullingontheshaft.
