Thekeyswitchislocatedontheoperator’sconsoleandhas3positions:OFF,
RUN,andSTART.
TestingtheKeySwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,engagethe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery;refertoRemoving
andInstallingtheBattery(page6–31).
3.Removethe3screwsthatsecurethedashpaneltothefueltankandraise
thedashpaneltoaccessthebackofthekeyswitch.
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitch.Checktheswitch
andtheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepairif
necessary.Removetheswitchfromthedashpanelifnecessary.
5.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting)andtheprecedingtabletodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitch
position.
6.Replacetheswitchifnecessary.
7.Iftheswitchtestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Installtheswitchandconnectthewireharnessaftertesting.
9.Securethedashpaneltothefueltank.
10.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
