Thetractionneutralswitchisanormallyopenproximityswitchthatcloseswhen
thetractionpedalisintheneutralposition.Theswitchismountedtoaplateon
therightsideofthetraction(piston)pump.Thesensingelementortargetforthe
tractionneutralswitchistheheadofacapscrewthatissecuredtotheneutral
arm.WhenthetractioncontrollinkageisintheNEUTRALposition,thecapscrew
(target)willbeneartheswitchfaceandtheswitchwillbeclosed.Whenthe
tractionlinkagemovestowardForwardorReverse,theneutralarmmovesaway
fromtheswitchfaceandtheswitchopens.
Theneutralswitchispartofthestarterrelaycircuit.Theneutralswitchandthe
PTOswitchmustbeclosedfortheenginestartertoengage.
AdjustingtheTractionNeutralSwitch
1.CheckandadjusttractionsystemNEUTRALposition;refertoAdjustingthe
TractionSystemforNeutral(page5–52).
IMPORTANT
Topreventdamagetothetractionneutralswitch,makesurethat
nothingcontactstheswitchfaceduringoperationoradjustment.Do
notscratchthefaceoftheneutralswitch.
2.WhenthetractionleverisintheNEUTRALposition,theclearancebetweenthe
faceoftheneutralswitchandtheheadofthecapscrew(target)shouldbe
from2.4to3.8mm(0.09to0.15inch).
