Toensureproperenginecooling,makesuretherotatingscreen,coolingnsand
otherexternalsurfacesoftheenginearekeptcleanatalltimes.Performthis
maintenanceprocedureattheintervalspeciedintheOperator’sManual.
IMPORTANT
TheenginethatpowersSandPromachinesisair–cooled.Operating
theenginewithdirtyorpluggedcoolingns,ablockedrotating
screenorapluggedordirtyblowerhousingwillresultinengine
overheatingandenginedamage.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,applythe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
CAUTION
Theengineandexhaustsystemmaybehot.Toavoidpossible
burns,allowtheengineandexhaustsystemtocoolbeforeworking
ontheengine.
IMPORTANT
Nevercleanenginewithpressurizedwater.Watercouldenterand
contaminatethefuelsystem.
2.Cleanthecoolingnsonbothofthecylinderheads.
