1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethe
bladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtotheneutral
lockposition,stoptheengine,removethekey,setthe
parkingbrakeandwaitforallmovingpartstostop
beforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Slidethemowerunderthemachine.
4.Lowertheheight-of-cutlevertothelowestposition.
5.Placetheheight-of-cutpininthelockpositionfor
lowestheight-of-cut.
6.Lifttherearofthemowerdeckandattachthe
rearsupportonthemowerdecktothereardeck
hangers.Securethemwithawasherandhairpincotter
(
Figure70).
7.Attachthefrontsupportonthemowerdecktothe
frontdeckhangers,andsecurethemwithawasherand
hairpincotter(Figure70).
8.Installthelong,linkbarthroughtheframehangerand
deck.Securethelinkbarwiththehairpincottersand
washersremovedpreviously(Figure69).
9.Installthemowerbeltontotheenginepulley;referto
ReplacingtheMowerBelt(page47).

Anuncovereddischargeopeningcouldallowthe
lawnmowertothrowobjectsintheoperator’sor

Neveroperatethelawnmowerunlessyouinstalla
mulchplate,dischargedeector,orgrasscollection
system.
Inspectthegrassdeectorfordamagebeforeeachuse.
Replaceanydamagedpartsbeforeuse.
1.Disengagethespringfromthenotchinthedeector
bracketandslidetherodoutoftheweldeddeck
brackets,spring,anddischargedeector(Figure71).
2.Removethedamagedorworndischargedeector.
