36.Apply multi−purpose grease to O−ring and insert O−
ring into groove of transaxle case. Install cover and se-
cure with nut, lockwasher and cap screws. Torque
fasteners from 11 to 13 ft−lb (15 to 17 N−m).
NOTE: If equipped with optional PTO, install PTO as-
sembly after the transaxle has been installed in vehicle.
Plug transaxle opening to prevent debris entry into
transaxle.

37.Install bell housing and secure with flange head
screws. Torque screws from 18.5 to 22 ft−lb (24.5 to
29.5 N−m).
38.Install extension spring.
