•Pluganyholesinthemowerwithboltsand
locknuts.
•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthemower
orthroughopeningsinthemower.
Storage
1.Disengagethebladecontrol(PTO).
2.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethekeybeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofthe
enginecylinder-headnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewitha
milddetergentandwater.Donotuseapressure
washertowashthemachine.Pressurewashing
maydamagetheelectricalsystemorwashaway
necessarygreaseatfrictionpoints.Avoidusing
waterexcessively,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,
lights,engine,andbattery.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;referto
ServicingtheAirCleaner(page21).
5.Greasethechassis;referto
GreasingandLubricatingtheMachine(page18).
6.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;referto
ServicingtheEngineOil(page19).
7.Checkthetirepressure;referto
CheckingtheTirePressure(page30).
8.Whenstoringthemachineforover30days,prepare
itasfollows:
A.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tofuelinthetankaccordingtotheinstructions
fromthestabilizermanufacturer.Donotusean
alcohol-basedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineandused
atalltimes.
B.Runenginefor5minutestodistributeconditioned
fuelthroughthefuelsystem.
C.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthefuel
tank;referto
DrainingtheFuelTank(page23).
D.Starttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
E.Chokeorprimetheengine.
F.Startandruntheengineuntilitwillnotstartagain.
G.Recycletheoldfuelaccordingtolocalcodes.
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedgasolineover90
days.
9.Removeandinspectthesparkplug;referto
ServicingtheSparkPlug(page22).Withthespark
plugremovedfromtheengine,pour2tablespoonsof
engineoilintothesparkplughole.Usetheelectric
startertocranktheengineanddistributetheoilinside
thecylinder.Installthesparkplug,butdonotconnect
thewiretothesparkplug.
