1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.Engagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Disconnectthebatterybyremovingthenegativecablerst,thenthepositive
cablefromthebattery.
3.RemovetheLHandRHbeltguardsfromthedeck.
4.Removetheoorpanfromthechassis.
5.Removethe3/8inchlocknutsecuringthebeltguidestotheidlerarmasm.
CAUTION
Usecautionwhenpreformingthisserviceprocedure,springisunder
hightension.Personalinjuryorpropertydamagemayoccur.
6.Usinga3/8inchrachetorbreakerbar,pulltheidlerarmclockwisetorelease
springtension.
7.Removethedeckbeltfromthedeckandclutchpulleys.
DeckBeltInstallation
1.Installthedeckbelttothedeckandclutchpulleys.
2.Usinga3/8inchrachetorbreakerbar,pulltheidlerarmcounterclockwise
toaddspringtension.
3.Installthe3/8inchlocknutsecuringthebeltguidestotheidlerarmasm.
4.Installtheoorpantothechassis.
5.InstalltheLHandRHbeltguardstothedeck.
6.Connectthebatterybyinstallingthepositivecablerst,thenthenegative
cabletothebattery.

1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.Engagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Disconnectthebatterybyremovingthenegativecablerst,thenthepositive
cablefromthebattery.
3.Settheheight-of-cutto4inches.
4.Removethedeckbelt.DeckBeltReplacement(page6–4)
5.Placeblocksunderthedeck.Removetheheight-of-cutpintoallowthedeck
torestontheblocks.
