ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Replacethe
primaryairlter.
Every250hours—Checkthe
secondaryairlter.
Every500hours—Replacethe
secondaryairlter.
Note:Servicetheaircleanermorefrequentlyif
operatingconditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
RemovingtheFilters
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedpositionandsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Pushdowntoreleasetheretainingclampsontheair
cleanerandpulltheaircleanercoveroffoftheair
cleanerbody(
Figure36).
4.Cleantheinsideoftheaircleanercoverwith
compressedair.
5.Gentlyslidetheprimarylteroutoftheaircleaner
body(
Figure36).Avoidknockingthelterintothe
sideofthebody.
6.Removethesecondarylteronlyifyouintendto
replaceit.
Important:Neverattempttocleanthe
secondarylter.Ifthesecondarylterisdirty,
thentheprimarylterisdamagedandyou
shouldreplacebothlters.
7.Inspecttheprimarylterfordamagebylookinginto
thelterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutside
ofthelter.Holesinthelterwillappearasbright
spots.Ifthelterisdamageddiscardit.

1.Donotcleanthepaperlter,replaceit(Figure36).
2.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,ordamage
totherubberseal.
3.Replacethepaperelementifitisdamaged.
ServicingtheSecondaryFilter
Donotcleanthesecondarylter,replaceit.
Important:Neverattempttocleanthesecondary
lter.Ifthesecondarylterisdirty,thenthe
primarylterisdamagedandyoushouldreplace
bothlters.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterforshipping
damage.Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifthesecondarylterisbeingreplaced,carefully
slideitintothelterbody(Figure36).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesecondary
lter(Figure36).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedby
pushingontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstalling
it.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
4.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththebreathercap
downandrotatesotheretainingclampslockthe
coverinplace(
Figure36).
