2.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,ordamageto
therubberseal.

InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,alwaysoperate
theenginewithbothairltersandcoverinstalled.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterforshipping
damage.Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifthesecondarylterisbeingreplaced,carefullyslide
itintothelterbody(Figure46).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesecondary
lter(Figure46).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedby
pushingontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
4.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththebreathercapdown
androtatesotheretainingclampslockthecoverin
place(
Figure46).

Note:Therearedifferentoilcapacitiesfortheengines.
Ensurethecorrectcapacityisused.
OilType:Detergentoil(APIserviceSG,SH,SJ,orSL)
OilCapacity:withalterchange,77ounces(2.3L);without
alterchange,70ounces(2.1L)
Viscosity:Seethetablebelow .
