Key/Ignition Switch
The ignition switch (Figure 5) makes the proper connections for the starter, safety circuits, and accessories.
Detents inside the switch control the three switch positions: OFF, RUN, and START. The START position is spring
loaded so that it automatically returns to the RUN position when released.
Ignition Switch Wiring Connections:
AAccessory
B – Starting Circuit
C – Operator Presence Switch, Safety Interlock Switches
D – Battery Voltage In
Testing
1. Remove the control panel from the right console.
2. Disconnect the ignition switch from the wire harness.
3. Using a digital multi-meter set to the OHM or Continuity setting, verify that continuity exists between the
terminals listed for each switch position.
4. Using a digital multi-meter set to the OHM or Continuity setting, verify that NO continuity exists between the
terminals not listed for each switch position.
Position Circuit “Make”
1. Off None
2. Run A+C+D
3. Start B+C+D
