Connection to other equipment
1. Connecting other units to your TV
DVD player:
For superior picture quality, set your DVD player to output an RGB signal (refer to your particular DVD player
owner’s manual). Always connect DVD players (and other equipment which can output an RGB signal) to
(1) (AV1) or (2) (AV2) - only the (1) (AV1) and (2) (AV2) SCART sockets are compatible
with RGB signals. Select ‘RGB’ in the ‘AV1 INPUT’ or ‘AV2 INPUT’ option (see page 35 section6/part2).
Select AV1 or AV2 input mode (see note below).
Notes:
S-Video signals can be played back either through the
(1) (AV1) SCART socket, the (2) (AV2)
SCART socket, or the
(3) (AV3) (see page 34). If you wish to use S-Video via the (1) (AV1)
SCART socket or the
(2) (AV2) SCART socket, use an S-Video-to-SCART adaptor (not supplied).
Select ‘S-VIDEO’ in the ‘AV1 INPUT’ or ‘AV2 INPUT’ option (see page 35 section6/part2).
DVD players should always be connected to the TV directly, not connected through a video recorder. This
is because the copy-guard used on some DVDs can cause picture disturbance if connected in this way.
Throughout the signal inputted from HDMI-1/2 (HDMI connection), neither the image nor the sound will
be outputted from
(2) (AV2) Scart Socket.
Throughout the signal inputted from Component input, HDMI-1/2 (DVI connection) or PC Monitor input,
the image will not be outputted from
(2) (AV2) Scart Socket. Only the sound will be outputted.
2. Connecting a decoder

You can use the
(1) (AV1) SCART socket when connecting a decoder and other audio-visual equipment.
Notes:
The video and sound signals from the tuner will always be output from
(1)(AV1) SCART socket.
Do not connect the decoder to the
(2) (AV2) SCART socket.
