Daily Inspection
We recommend a weekly cleaning of the following items to assure you the best scanning perfor-
mance:
y Be sure not to scratch the parts to be cleaned.
y Do not use solvent such as thinner or benzene to clean machinery. This could cause defor-
mation or tarnishing.
y When using chemical cleaning pads, observe the precautions pertaining to the product.
1. Scanning area (surface of the long rectangular glass) / 2. Original glass
Wipe with a sheet of soft dry cloth or soft cloth dampened in water and squeezed tightly. Do
not use alcohol or solvent.
3. Guide / 4. Platen sheet
Clean the surface as follows depending on the staining.
y Clean it with a soft cloth.
y Clean it with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water.
y Clean it with a soft cloth lightly moistened with alcohol, and then wipe it with a dry cloth.
y Clean it with a soft cloth lightly moistened with watered-down neutral detergent, and then
wipe it with a dry cloth.
