8. ONRAMP GATEWAY
Onramp Gateway Overview
Onramp Gateway uses the relay function which is one of the ITU-T Mailbox features. The ITU-T Mailbox
compliant facsimiles can send a document to the Relay Mailbox in the equipment and this equipment
transfer to the E-mail addresses of other Internet Fax machines and client computers registered in the
Relay Mailbox.
- To use this function for e-STUDIO350/450/200L/230/230L/280, you need to install the following options.
e-STUDIO350/450:
‘Printer kit (GM-1010) and Scanner upgrade kit (GM-3010)’ or ‘Printer/Scanner kit (GM-2010)’
e-STUDIO230/230L/280:
‘Printer kit (GM-1020) and Scanner upgrade kit (GM-3020)’ or ‘Printer/Scanner kit (GM-2020)’
e-STUDIO200L:
‘Printer kit (GM-1030) and Scanner upgrade kit (GM-3030)’ or ‘Printer/Scanner kit (GM-2030)’
- To use this function, you need the NIC board.

1. A facsimile is sent to the Relay
Box of the machine through the
public switched telephone line.
2. The E-mail addresses are
assigned to the end stations
in the Relay Box.
3. The facsimile is converted to
an E-mail and forward to a
mail server through the LAN.
4. The E-mail is delivered
through the Internet, and
transfered to the end station.
