5.3.4 Location of communication modules
As described earlier, the user should examine the type of communication module and the
location where the module is placed. Therefore, the user is required to understand the
reference, when the user examines the connection figures. (See
Appendix: Typical external
connection
)
Figure 5.3-11 exemplifies IED has a LAN module (1000BASE-LX) and Protection signaling
module (ST) placed at C11 and C13 locations. IRIG-B and Fiber optic module are located at
C14 and C15.
