  If your Toshiba Relays experience communication trouble with IEC103, begin by verifying the address settings between the BCU and the relay, ensuring there are no address duplications. Then, confirm that the transmission baud rate settings are identical between the BCU and the relay. Also, check the start bit, stop bit, and parity settings of the data transmitted by the BCU to the relay, ensuring they match the relay's fixed settings: 1 start bit, 1 stop bit, and even parity. If the issue persists, check the connection port (CH1/CH2), the RS485 A/B/COM interconnection, and the send/receive interconnection of the optical cable. If using RS485, ensure a terminal resistor (150 ohms) is correctly placed at both ends of the RS485 cable.

  If the HMI isn't displaying IEC103 events on the SAS side for your Toshiba Relays, the first step is to examine the event sending condition. If there's an error in the signal number within the IEC103 configurator, make the necessary changes. If the settings appear correct, use a programmable LED to verify the signal condition. Also, make sure that the Information Number (INF) and Function Type (FUN) are the same between the relay and the SAS. If the relay hasn't been initialized after writing the IEC103 configurator setting, check the sum value of the IEC103 setting data from the LCD screen. If this value differs from the sum value on the IEC103 configurator, initialize the relay. Lastly, check if the IECBR settling is set to Normal.
