2.3.8 Use of Terminal Block Signal Conversion Adapter
By combining the terminal block signal conversion adapter with base unit BUM7B, an
I/O module (G3 I/O) can be upgraded to the G2 I/O module using the internal wiring up
to the I/O module (G3 I/O) terminal block of the existing T3/T3H.
The G3 I/O terminal block is connected to the G2 I/O by mounting the terminal block
signal conversion adapter on BUM7B as shown in the photo below.
The photo shows BUM7B and terminal block signal conversion adapter connected with
the G3 I/O terminal block.

The procedure to connect BUM7B and the terminal block signal adapter is shown below.
(1) Mount G2 I/O on BUM7B.
(2) Connect attached terminal conversion cable to the terminal block signal conversion
adapter.
(3) Connect attached cable to the I/O terminal of G2 I/O or I/O connector.
(4) Secure the terminal block signal conversion adapter to BUM7B with attached screws.
(5) Mount the wired G3 I/O terminal block on the terminal block signal conversion
adapter, and secure it with screws.
