Installing the USB Driver
• Mac OS 8.1 and 8.5 users
Please use the “Install Toshiba USB” provided in the CD-ROM.
To properly connect the camera to the computer each time, make sure the computer and camera are
both shut down before attaching the USB cable.
After attaching the cable, set the mode dial of the camera to PC Mode.
Then restart your computer.
• Mac OS 8.6 users
Do not use the “Install Toshiba USB” provided in the CD-ROM. Instead, please download and install the
“USB Mass Storage Support from the following internet address:
http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11418.
After installing, please reboot your computer to complete the process.
With the installation of the USB Mass Storage Support, your computer will be able to recognize the
attachment of the camera through the USB cable, allowing for immediate operation without having to
reboot your system.
• Updating from Mac OS 8.1/8.5 to 8.6
If Mac OS 8.1/8.5 users decide to update the OS to Mac OS 8.6, it will be necessary to perform the
following steps:
(1) Before updating the Mac OS from 8.1/8.5 to 8.6, please remove, from the Extensions Folder under the
System Folder, the following files:
-USB Iomega UT Driver (Ver1.2b3)
-USB PDR-M5 Driver
Note: Mac OS 8.1/8.5 users who have not yet used the “Install Toshiba USB”, will not have to remove
the above files.
