Function Description

The Toshiba air conditioner offers various operational modes and features to ensure comfort and energy efficiency. It can be controlled via an indoor unit display panel or a remote control.

Operational Modes:

  • Automatic Operation: The unit automatically selects between cooling or heating based on the room temperature.
  • Cooling: Provides cooling to the room.
  • Dry: Dehumidifies the room. Air volume cannot be selected in this mode.
  • Heating: Provides heating to the room.
  • Fan Only: Circulates air without cooling or heating.

Air Flow Direction:

  • Vertical Louver Adjustment: The vertical louver can be moved to a desired position using the FIX button on the remote control. It can also swing automatically using the SWING button. Manual adjustment of the vertical louver is not recommended.
  • Horizontal Louver Adjustment: The horizontal louvers can be adjusted manually.
  • Air Outlet Select: Allows selection of air outlets (Upper & Lower, Upper only, Lower only) for different modes. In cooling, only the Upper outlet is used when the room temperature approaches the set temperature. In heating, if the Lower outlet is selected, the upper louver does not operate even if swing is set.

Temperature Settings:

  • Temperature Range: The desired temperature can be set between 17°C and 30°C.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Use the TEMPERATURE Up/Down buttons to increase or decrease the setting temperature by 1°C.

Fan Speed:

  • Fan Speed Selection: Options include AUTO, LOW, LOW+, MED, MED+, HIGH, and Quiet.

Special Features:

  • Hi-POWER Operation: Automatically controls room temperature and airflow for faster cooling or heating (not available in DRY mode).
  • ECO Operation: Automatically controls room temperature to save energy (not available in DRY mode). In cooling, the internal set temperature increases by 1 degree per hour for 2 hours (maximum 2 degrees increase). In heating, the internal set temperature decreases.
  • Timer Operation: Allows setting ON and OFF timers for scheduled operation. The settings are saved for the next same operation.
  • Preset Operation: Memorizes preferred operation settings for future use.
  • Fireplace Operation: Keeps the indoor unit's fan blowing continuously during thermo-off periods to circulate heat from other sources. It has two settings: Fireplace 1 (fan runs at previously selected speed) and Fireplace 2 (fan runs at super-low speed).
  • 8°C Heating Operation: Maintains room temperature between 5-13°C with reduced energy usage.
  • Comfort Sleep Operation: Automatically controls airflow and turns off the unit for comfortable sleep (not available in DRY mode). In cooling, the set temperature increases by 1 degree/hour for 2 hours. In heating, the set temperature decreases.
  • Auto Restart Operation: After a power failure, the unit automatically restarts in the same operating mode as before the power failure. This feature can be turned ON/OFF.
  • Self Cleaning Operation (Cool and Dry Operation Only): Dries the inside of the air conditioner to reduce mold growth. It starts automatically after 10 or more minutes of cooling or dry mode operation and lasts for 30 minutes. This feature can be activated or canceled.
  • Power-Selection (Outdoor Unit): Limits maximum current and power consumption to 100%, 75%, or 50%, which helps save energy and prolong compressor lifetime.
  • Silent Operation (Outdoor Unit): Reduces the outdoor unit's sound level. It has two settings: Silent 1 (prioritizes heating/cooling capacity while operating silently) and Silent 2 (prioritizes sound level reduction, reducing it by 4 dB(A)).
  • Child Lock Function: Prevents unintended operation by locking the unit's buttons. Activated/deactivated by pressing the MODE button for 3 seconds.
  • Three-minute Protection Feature: Prevents immediate restart within 3 minutes of being turned off or suddenly restarted.
  • Preheating Operation: Warms up the unit for 5 minutes before blowing warm air in heating mode.
  • Warm Air Control: Automatically reduces fan speed and stops the outdoor unit when room temperature reaches the set temperature.
  • Automatic Defrosting: Fans stop during defrost operation.
  • Adjusting Brightness of Unit Display Panel: Allows selecting from 4 stages of brightness for the display panel.
