8. Pull off the tape securing the membrane switch.
9. The membrane switch is held in place by plastic pins. Carefully lift the
membrane switch clear of pins to remove it.

Installing the HDD Interface Board and Membrane Switch
To install the HDD interface board and membrane switch, follow the steps below and refer to
Figures 4-25 and 4-26.
1. Seat the membrane switch in the HDD interface board and secure it partially
with tape.
2. Place and press evenly to connect the HDD interface board flexible cable to PJ6
on the system board.
3. Seat the HDD interface board and secure it with three M2.5x6 screws. Make
sure the ground plate is secured.
4. Connect the membrane switch cable to PJ7 on the system board. Insert with the
blue side of the cable facing up. Make sure the cable connection is secured with
the pressure plate.
5. Install the FDD, top cover with display assembly, RTC battery, sub-battery, VGA
board, keyboard, HDD, optional memory module, optional PC card, and battery
pack as described in Sections 4.9 back through 4.2.
