Procedure 2 Diagnostic Test Program Execution Check
The Floppy Disk Drive Diagnostic Test Program is stored on the Diagnostics Disk. After
loading Toshiba MS-DOS, run the Diagnostics Program. Refer to Chapter 3, Tests and
Diagnostics, for more information about the diagnostics test procedures.
Each floppy disk drive test error code and its status is described in Table 2-3. Make sure the
floppy disk in the FDD is formatted correctly and that the write protect tab is disabled. If any
other errors occur while executing the FDD diagnostics test, go to Check 1.

Check 1 If the following message displays, disable the write protect tab on the floppy disk.
If any other message appears, perform Check 2.
Write protected
Check 2 Make sure the floppy disk is formatted correctly. If it is, go to Procedure 3.
