Digital Add-on Module Installation
Install one or two DADM 2020s to a 2000-series digital telephone (only).

DK40 supports up to 24 DADMs.
The DADM provides DSS buttons, speed dial buttons and Exchange line buttons (see
Figure 5-17 for initialised button assignments).

◆ See Chapter 1 – DK40 Configuration for loop length and secondary protection
requirements.
◆ DADMs cannot be installed on telephones that have RPCI-DI on OCA/DVSU installed.
◆ DADMs cannot be installed on DKT2001-F telephones.

To install DADMs
1. Loosen the four captive screws securing the 2000-series digital telephone base
(Figure 5-1) and remove the base.
2. Remove the base handset hanger.
3. Loosen two captive screws securing DADM and remove bases.
4. Put the DADM supplied cable through the telephone and DADM bases as shown in
Figure 5-16.
5. Connect DADM cable connectors to P1 of DADM and P1 of DKT2000 telephone as
shown in Figure 5-16.
6. Install base of DADM and telephone– tuck DADM cable into DADM and telephone
base, as necessary, for proper length.
7. Secure DADM to telephone base with DADM connecting plate (using four screws).
8. If required to achieve maximum distance, install 2-pair house cable (or external power)
and 2-pair modular cord, supplied with DADM. (Chapter 4 – DK40 Universal Slot PCB
Wiring)
9. If a second DADM should be installed, follow the drawing in Figure 5-16 to connect P1
of the second DADM to P2 of the first DADM with the DADM connecting cable.
