The PEPU is similar to the PIOU and PIOUS, but supports fewer peripherals than both PCBs.
PEPU controls, indicators, and interface connectors are illustrated in Figure 3-4 and
described in Table 3-2.
Note
The DK40 Base KSU provides the 600ohm page output. The 600 ohm output on the
PEPU is not used.
PEPU does not support the following PIOU and PIOUS options:
Alarm sensor
Four-zone page
SMDR port
Remote maintenance modem or ASCII terminal connector
IMDU connection

PCB Wiring for installation of external options.
PEPU Installation
1. Ensure the PEPU has been configured for the appropriate hardware options. (Chapter 6
– Peripheral Installation.)
2. Insert the PEPU (component side facing right) into the last slot of the Expansion
cabinet. Apply firm, even pressure to ensure proper mating of connectors.
3. After installing the PEPU, gently pull the PCB outward. If the connectors are properly
mated, a slight resistance is felt.
