3.17 Head Cleaning
3.17.1
Function Description
This function cleans the heads in the FDD by executing a series of head load/seek and read
operations. A cleaning kit is necessary
to perform this function.
3.17.2 Operations

1. Select 4 (Head Cleaning) from the DIAGNOSTIC MENU and press Enter to
display the following messages:
DIAGNOSTICS - FLOPPY DISK HEAD CLEANING VX.XX
Mount cleaning disk(s) on drive(s).
Press any key when ready.
2. Remove the Diagnostics Disk from the FDD, insert the cleaning disk, and
press
Enter.
3. When the "cleaning start" message appears, the FDD head cleaning has begun.
4. The display automatically returns
to the DIAGNOSTIC MENU when the
program is completed.
