Introduction
Toshiba integrated control system "TOSDIC-CIE DS1" is a integrated control system with the
new concept to meet the open technology age. An easy-to-use open system is realized by
adopting the standard multi-vendor network and the package software of simple engineering
in addition to the control and computer technologies fostered over long years.
This manual explains the intelligent PI/O, which is a PI/O module used in the PCS-DS control
station serial PI/O system, mainly the system configuration and handling, and the functions of
each intelligent PI/O.
In order to be able to use each unit and module of the intelligent PI/O correctly, please read
this manual thoroughly first.
In addition, be sure to read the "Safety Precautions" before using each unit and module.
Please keep this manual carefully after reading.
The Structure of This Manual
This manual consists of the following chapters.
Chapter 1 System configuration
This chapter explains the serial PI/O system configuration, the standard
system expansion configuration and the dual system expansion configuration.
Chapter 2 Installation and wiring
This chapter explains the installation and wiring of each intelligent PI/O, and
the relevant precautions.
Chapter 3 System configuration unit and module
This chapter explains the intelligent PI/O communication components,
terminal block unit, PI/O module and option board that make up the serial PI/O
system, along with accessories and spare parts.
Chapter 4 Troubleshooting
This chapter explains what action to take when the serial PI/O system fails to
function correctly.
Chapter 5 Maintenance and Inspection
This chapter explains details and methods of daily inspection and periodical
inspection and maintenance parts.
