Usage Features:

Setting Up:

Before first use, the appliance should be removed from its packaging, checked for damage, and all listed parts confirmed present. Any stickers or labels, except the rating plate or warnings, should be removed. The packaging should be disposed of responsibly. The air fryer should be placed on a stable, horizontal, even, and heat-resistant surface. Accessories and the air fryer unit should be washed and dried according to the cleaning instructions. It's important to note that the drawer should not be filled with oil or frying fat, as this is an oil-free fryer. The drawer is fully removable by pulling on the handle.

Test Run:

To remove any manufacturing coating residues, the appliance should be used for the first time without food. This may produce some smoke or odors. The appliance should be heated up on the highest temperature setting (200°C) for approximately 15 minutes. To do this, connect the plug, close the drawer, set the timer to 15 minutes, and the temperature to 200°C. The heating element and fan will operate, and the timer will count down. After the time elapses and an audible signal is emitted, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down.

Cooking with the Air Fryer:

  1. Connect the plug to a mains wall socket.
  2. Remove the drawer.
  3. Place food inside the drawer, ensuring not to exceed the MAX line.
  4. Slide the drawer back into the air fryer.
  5. Determine the required cooking time and temperature using the provided settings table.
  6. Turn the time and temperature control dials to the desired settings. The fan will start, and the indicator light will illuminate. The timer will begin counting down.
  7. During operation, the working lights will turn on and off to maintain the set temperature. Cooking times and temperatures can be adjusted while the air fryer is in operation.
  8. To check food, pull the drawer out and place it on a heat-resistant surface. Always use oven gloves and tongs when handling hot food and accessories. Do not turn the drawer upside down to avoid dripping excess oil onto the food.
  9. If food is not ready, return it to the air fryer and set the timer for a few extra minutes.
  10. Once cooking is complete, remove the plug and allow the appliance and accessories to cool before cleaning.

Pre-heating:

It is recommended to add 3 minutes to the cooking time if the appliance is cold. Alternatively, pre-heat the appliance without food by placing the empty drawer into the unit, adjusting the timer to 3 minutes and the temperature to the required cooking temperature. Once pre-heated, remove the drawer, add food, and then place the drawer back into the unit, adjusting the timer as needed.

Cooking Tips:

  • Cooking time depends on ingredient size; smaller items may require less time.
  • Cooking times are generally shorter than in a conventional oven. Start with shorter times and adjust to personal taste.
  • Monitor food condition during cooking to prevent burning.
  • "Flipping" or turning smaller foods halfway through cooking ensures even frying.
  • Some foods require shaking halfway through the cooking time. Pull the drawer out by the handle, shake it, and slide it back in.
  • Adding a small amount of oil to fresh ingredients can make food crispier. After adding oil, let ingredients sit for a few minutes before frying.
  • The air fryer can reheat food; set to 150°C for up to 10 minutes.
  • If using a cooking vessel, non-stick or enamel-coated ovenware is recommended for better heat transfer. Be aware that cooking vessels may reduce airflow and affect cooking.
  • Snacks prepared in an oven can also be made in the air fryer.
  • Frozen chips generally do not require added oil as they are often pre-fried. Follow manufacturer's specifications for frozen products.
  • Avoid extremely greasy ingredients like sausages.

Additional Functions:

  • Pausing and Resuming Cooking: Removing the drawer during operation will pause the cooking cycle, stopping the fan and heating element. The On/Standby indicator will remain lit. Re-inserting the drawer resumes cooking with the latest selected settings.
  • Automatic Switch Off: The built-in timer automatically shuts down the air fryer when it reaches zero. To manually switch off, adjust the timer to zero.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning and Care:

  • Warning: Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Clean the main unit, drawer, and grill plate after each use. Do not allow food residues to dry on, as this can lead to burning and faults.
  • Unplug the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down. Removing the drawer helps it cool faster.
  • Wipe the main unit clean with a damp cloth and a little detergent.
  • Clean the drawer and grill plate with detergent and warm water. For stubborn dirt, soak them in warm water and detergent beforehand.
  • Note: Do not clean the appliance with metal kitchen utensils, caustic or abrasive cleaning agents, or scouring sponges.
  • Allow all parts to air dry completely or dry with a tea towel before reusing or storing.

Storage:

Once cool, clean, and dry, store the appliance upright in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:

  • Air fryer not working: Check if plugged into an earthed socket, drawer fully inserted, and timer set.
  • Air fryer emitting smoke: White smoke indicates grease heating up; clean the appliance. Dark smoke suggests burning food; unplug immediately and wait for smoke to clear before removing the drawer.
  • Foods overcooked or burned: Decrease cooking temperature or time. Ensure food items are not too large or touching heating elements.
  • Fried ingredients not done: Put smaller batches in the air fryer. Adjust temperature or cooking time as per the settings guide.
  • French fries fried unevenly: Use fresh starchy potatoes, ensure they stay firm, and shake halfway through cooking.
  • Food ingredients not baked evenly: Overturn food ingredients during cooking.
  • French fries not crispy: Depends on oil and water content. Dry fries properly before adding oil. Cut fries smaller for crispier results. Add slightly more oil for crispier results.

Disposal of the Unit:

The appliance should not be disposed of with domestic rubbish. It must be disposed of separately as old electrical and electronic equipment, in accordance with the WEEE directive. Users are advised to visit www.recycle-more.co.uk or www.recyclenow.co.uk for information on recycling electrical items, or www.weeeireland.ie for items purchased in Ireland. The appliance should be taken to a local Civic Amenity site for recycling at the end of its life.
