Vehicles wi th curt ain s hield air bags—This
system cannot t urn off the c urtai n shi eld
airbags .
Front passenger air bag on−off i ndicator
light
Vehicles without s mart entr y and start sy s-
tem—These lights come on when the en-
gine swi tch i s set at the “ON” pos iti on. It
goes off af ter s everal seconds . This
means t he pass enger air bag manual on−
off system is oper ating properl y. Aft er a
few s econds, the pass enger ai rbags “ ON”
indicat or light wil l c ome on when t he air-
bags are turn on. The passenger airbag
“OFF” indicat or l ight wi ll come on when
the airbags ar e turn off.
Vehicles with smar t entr y and star t sys-
tem—These light s c ome on when the
“ENGINE START STOP” swi tch i s s et at
IGNITION ON mode. I t goes off after
sever al s econds. This means the pas sen-
ger air bag manual on−off system is oper-
ating properly. After a few s econds, the
passenger airbags “ ON” indi cator light wi ll
come on when the airbags are t urn on.
The passenger ai rbag “ OFF” indi cator light
will c ome on when the ai rbags are tur n
off.
The SRS warni ng l ight and the pas senger
airbag “OFF” indic ator li ght wi ll come on
if there is a malf unction in the passenger
airbag manual on−off swi tch.
