Example
Configure the authentication mode of a virtual-link as simple authentication,
with the transmission area as Area 2 and the ID of the neighboring router on
the other endpoint as 3.3.3.3, and the authentication key as 123456:
T3700G-52TQ(config)# router ospf 1
T3700G-52TQ(config-router)# area 2 virtual-link 3.3.3.3

Description
The area virtual-link message-digest-key is used to configure the MD5
authentication ID and key of the virtual-link. To delete the specified
configuration, please use the no area virtual-link message-digest- key
command.

Parameter
transit-area
—— The transition area ID, in the format of an IP address in
dotted decimal notation or decimal value ranging from 0 to 4294967295.
router-id
—— The ID of the neighboring router on the other endpoint of the
virtual link, in the format of dotted decimal notation.
id
—— The key ID of the MD5, ranging from 1 to 255.
password
—— A string from 1 to 16 alphanumeric characters or symbols.
The password is case sensitive, allows spaces but ignores leading spaces,
and cannot contain question marks. By default, it is empty.
