12-2.1 Configuration
The section describes how to configure the 802.1X parameters of the switch. You can use
802.1X to connect users to a variety of resources including Internet access, conference calls,
printing documents on shared printers, or by simply logging on to the Internet.
Web Interface
To c onfigure the IEEE 802.1X in the web interface:
1. Click Security, IEEE 802.1X, Configuration.
2. Select “on” in the Mode of IEEE 802.1X Configuration.
3. Checked Reauthentication Enabled.
4. Set Reauthentication Period (default is 3600 seconds).
5. Select Admin State and displays Port State.
6. Click the Apply button to save the setting.
7. To cancel the setting click the Reset button to revert to previously saved values.

Parameter descriptions:
System Configuration
Mode: Select on or off. Indicates if IEEE 802.1X is globally enabled or disabled on the switch. If globally
disabled, all ports are allowed forwarding of frames.
Reauthentication Enabled: If checked, successfully authenticated supplicants/clients are
reauthenticated after the interval specified by the Reauthentication Period. Reauthentication for
802.1X-enabled ports can be used to detect if a new device is plugged into a switch port or if a
supplicant is no longer attached.
