Overview

This document provides instructions for the Tuc Tuc Hip Seat Baby Carrier, a product designed to safely carry infants and toddlers. The carrier complies with the European safety regulation EN 13209-2:2015 and is identified by product codes 04789 and 06826.

Function Description:

The Tuc Tuc Hip Seat Baby Carrier is designed to facilitate the transport of babies and toddlers by distributing their weight across the caregiver's body, reducing strain on the arms. It offers multiple carrying positions to adapt to the child's developmental stage and the caregiver's comfort. The carrier features a hip seat that provides a stable base for the child, and adjustable straps to secure both the child and the carrier to the adult. For infants who cannot yet hold their head upright, a textile insert is provided to offer additional head and neck support.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Age Range: Suitable for use from 0 to 36 months. However, it is recommended to use when the baby can sit upright unassisted (typically from 6 months).
  • Maximum Weight: 19.6 kg. The product should not be used if the baby exceeds this weight limit.
  • Safety Standard: Complies with EN 13209-2:2015.

Usage Features:

The carrier offers four main modes of use:

  1. At the Front (Facing Inwards):

    • Setup: Attach the clip, turn the carrier forwards, adjust the belt securely around the waist.
    • Placement: Place the baby on the seat.
    • Securing: Pass the belts over the baby's shoulders, connect the back fastener, and adjust the belts to fit the baby's body snugly.
    • Infant Support (for babies without neck strength): If the baby cannot hold their head upright, attach the textile insert. This insert has two snap-shut fasteners that connect to the carrier's fasteners and two rubber strips that insert into the clasps. This ensures the baby's head is held gently but firmly against the adult's body, with the chin raised away from the sternum to prevent asphyxiation.
  2. At the Front (Facing Forwards - 6+ Months Old):

    • Setup: Similar to the facing inwards position: attach the clip, turn the carrier forwards, adjust the belt securely around the waist.
    • Placement: Place the baby on the seat.
    • Securing: Pass the belts over the baby's shoulders, connect the back fastener, and adjust the belts to fit the baby's body. This position is suitable for babies who can sit upright and have sufficient neck strength.
  3. At the Rear:

    • Setup: Attach the clip, turn the carrier forwards, adjust the belt securely around the waist.
    • Placement: Place the baby on the seat with the assistance of another person.
    • Securing: Pass the belts over the baby's shoulders, connect the front fastener, and adjust the belts to fit the baby's body.
  4. Multiple Positions (Support Base/Hip Seat Only):

    • Function: In this mode, the carrier primarily acts as an additional support for the caregiver's arms, not a complete replacement.
    • Setup: Attach the clip, turn the carrier forwards, adjust the belt securely around the waist.
    • Placement: Place the baby on the seat in the most comfortable position.
    • Folding the Base: To fold the base for storage or when not in use, press the buttons located on the upper sides of the base. Once the mechanism is disengaged, push the base downwards.

General Usage Warnings and Recommendations:

  • Always ensure the baby is securely strapped into the carrier.
  • Do not use the carrier within 30 minutes after the baby has eaten.
  • Limit continuous use to no more than 2 consecutive hours.
  • Never undo the buckle if the child is in the carrier.

  • For premature babies, low birth weight babies, or those with medical issues, consult a healthcare professional before use.
  • If unsure about using the carrier alone, seek assistance from another person.
  • Consult a medical professional if you have any doubts about the product's use.
  • Be aware that an active baby increases the risk of falling from the carrier.
  • Caregiver's and child's movements can affect balance; exercise caution when bending or leaning.
  • The carrier is not suitable for sports activities (e.g., running, cycling, swimming, skiing).
  • Continuously monitor the child to ensure their mouth and nose are unobstructed.
  • Ensure the child's chin is not resting on their chest to prevent breathing difficulties or asphyxiation.
  • Regularly inspect the carrier for wear or damage; discontinue use if any part is damaged or missing.
  • Keep the carrier out of children's reach when not in use.
  • Avoid using the product near heat sources or while operating domestic appliances.
  • Do not use while feeding the baby.
  • Do not spill hot drinks on the carrier.
  • The product is intended for one child only.
  • Only use the carrier with babies who have sufficient neck strength to hold their heads upright, unless using the specific head support insert.

  • Bleaching: Do not bleach.
  • Drying: Do not tumble dry.
  • Ironing: Do not iron.
  • Dry Cleaning: Do not dry clean.
