Code Matching

Code Matching (pairing): occasionally pairing is lost, perhaps due to atmospheric conditions,

To re-pair - press and hold the code matching button whilst connecting the power by plugging

the mains cable into the control box of the TV lift on the base of the footboard.

Continue to press the button for another 5 seconds then press the up or down button to

successfully match the code.

Regularly check the batteries and if necessary re-place them - x3 pcs AAA size.

Press once and TV will go down - as soon as the lower resting position is

reached power to the TV is switched off to prevent it overheating.

GENERAL INFORMATION

It is very important not to place any vessel containing liquids, e.g. drinks or vase of ﬂowers on top of the TV footboard that may

accidentally spill and enter the TV compartment as this could cause damage to the TV and/or the TV lifting equipment. If this

happens turn off the power and contact your retailer.

Do not expose the bed to an undue level of heat - keep away from radiators.

Never allow anyone to sit on the foot end of the bed - keep children well away from moving parts.

To keep your bed clean, we recommend that it be wiped over with a slightly dampened cloth, or if fabric, use a light vacuum

cleaner; disconnect power before cleaning.

Supplied with the bed is a remote control to operate the TV Lift and there will be one to operate the television itself. Both these

remotes will be supplied with batteries - there are no batteries in the rest of the equipment.

When it is time to change the batteries there are strict controls for disposal of the old ones - your local council can advise

on how to safely dispose of them. Never burn batteries on an open fire as they could explode.

Function Description

The primary function of the Sheldon Ottoman TV Bed is to provide a bed with an integrated TV lift mechanism. This allows a television to be discreetly stored within the footboard when not in use and raised for viewing via a remote control. The ottoman lift system provides significant under-bed storage, accessible by lifting the mattress frame. Power to the TV is automatically connected when the lift rises to its upper working position and disconnected when it lowers to prevent overheating. The bed is designed for adult operation, with safety warnings regarding children and pets around moving parts and the storage area.

The maximum storage height under the bed is 250mm. The assembly time is approximately 1.5 hours, and it requires two people for assembly.

Usage Features

TV Lift Operation:

Remote Control: The TV lift is operated via a remote control. Pressing the "UP" button raises the TV to its upper working position, automatically connecting power. Pressing the "DOWN" button lowers the TV, and power is automatically disconnected when it reaches the lower resting position to prevent overheating. A "STOP" button is also available to halt the TV lift at any point.
TV Installation Kit: The bed includes a TV installation kit with screw-washer sets (M8/M6/M4) and Allen keys (5mm/4mm/2.5mm) for mounting the TV.
Cable Management: The design incorporates ducts for routing HDMI, aerial, and power cables, preventing tangles and snags. Cable clips and ties are provided to keep wires tight and secure.
Power Supply: A 3-meter power lead is supplied for the TV lift mechanism. The TV's own power lead plugs into a dedicated socket on the footboard, which only supplies power when the TV is in the raised position.

Ottoman Storage:

Lift Mechanism: The bed features a gas lift piston mechanism for easy opening and closing of the mattress frame, revealing the internal storage area.
Handle: A fabric hand strap is provided to assist in lifting and lowering the bed frame, emphasizing the importance of using it to avoid trapping fingers.
Accessibility: The ottoman frame must be fully opened to access the storage area safely.
Base Cover: A fabric base cover (12) is fitted evenly around the inside of the bed to protect stored items.

Safety Features:

Mattress Requirement: The mattress must be on the bed frame before operating the lift mechanism to prevent injury.
Clearance: Hands, children, and pets must be kept clear of the mechanism and storage area during operation.
Weight Limits: Strict minimum and maximum weight limits for the mattress must be adhered to.
Overload Prevention: The internal storage base should not be overloaded, and items stored should not touch the slats to prevent damage.
Power Disconnection: Users are advised to disconnect power during electrical storms, when on holiday, or when the bed is not in extended use, especially if young children are present.
Earthed Power Supply: The main power lead must be connected to an earthed socket to prevent electric shock.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

The bed should be wiped with a slightly dampened cloth.
Fabric parts can be cleaned with a light vacuum cleaner.
Power must be disconnected before cleaning.

Remote Control:

The remote control requires 3 AAA batteries.
Users should regularly check and replace batteries as needed.
Instructions are provided for "Code Matching" (pairing) the remote control if it loses connection, which involves pressing and holding the code matching button while connecting power to the control box.

Piston Adjustment:

When fitting the gas lift pistons, the stems (x) should slide over the axles (y).
Lock nuts should be tightened with a spanner, but not over-tightened, to allow a small gap for the stems to move freely. Over-tightening can make the frame hard to lift.

General Care:

Avoid placing liquids on the TV footboard to prevent spills into the TV compartment. If a spill occurs, turn off the power and contact the retailer.
Do not expose the bed to undue heat, keeping it away from radiators.
Do not sit on the foot end of the bed.
Do not interfere with or modify fitted cables.
Do not insert anything into the footboard that could damage the TV or lift mechanism.

Troubleshooting:

If the equipment does not operate, check all electrical connections and ensure electricity is reaching the main power input plug.
Ensure the TV is switched on (it will only work when in the up position).
Check if the remote control has lost its connection and re-pair if necessary.
If problems persist or unusual noises occur, disconnect power and contact the retailer. For electrical connection doubts, consult an approved electrician.
