What are the terms of the warranty:

This 5 year limited warranty covers product failures for a period

of 5 years after the original purchase. The warranty is only valid

if the product is purchased from TV•Ears directly or from one

of the TV•Ears authorized resellers. During the 5 year warranty,

If the product fails within the ﬁrst year of the original purchase

date, it will be replaced once at the cost of shipping and handling

with the same or newer model. Subsequently, for the remainder

of the 5 year warranty period, if the product fails it will be

replaced for 50% o MSRP with the same or newer model

of equal value. The following items are NOT covered under

this warranty: ear tips, batteries, and shipping charges. Any

replacement parts purchased at 50% o automatically extends

your warranty into a new 5 year limited warranty.

TV Ears Long Range Digital Headphone System

The TV Ears Long Range Digital Headphone System is designed to enhance the listening experience for television viewers, particularly those with hearing difficulties, by clarifying dialogue and allowing individual volume control. The system consists of a transmitter and a headset.

Function Description

The core function of the TV Ears system is to transmit audio wirelessly from a television to a headset, providing clear, amplified sound directly to the user's ears. It utilizes Voice Enhancement Technology™ to clarify dialogue, making it easier to understand conversations on TV. The system is compatible with any television.

Important Technical Specifications

Audio Inputs: The system offers multiple options for connecting to a television's audio output:

Digital Optical Audio: This is the preferred connection method for optimal sound quality. The system includes a digital optical audio cable.
Analog Audio (RCA): For TVs with RCA audio output (red and white jacks), an RCA audio cord is provided.
3.5mm Headphone Jack: The system can also connect to a TV's 3.5mm headphone jack using a 3.5mm audio cord.

Power:

The transmitter is powered by an AC adapter, which plugs into a standard electrical outlet.
The headset is powered by a rechargeable battery (Item Number-55810), providing 4-6 hours of use per charge, depending on volume and usage.

Wireless Range: The system is designed for "Long Range" operation, allowing users to move freely within a reasonable distance from the transmitter while maintaining audio quality.

Voice Enhancement Technology™: This proprietary technology is integrated into the system to specifically clarify television dialogue.

Usage Features

Setup and Connection:

Place the transmitter: Position the transmitter close enough to the TV for easy connection.
Plug in: Connect the provided USB-C cable to the transmitter and the power adapter to a standard electrical outlet.
Installation of the Transmitter:
- Digital Audio Connection: Connect the digital audio cord from the TV's digital audio out port to the "DIGITAL AUDIO" port on the back of the transmitter. If your TV requires a specific setting for digital audio output (e.g., PCM or Stereo), adjust it in the TV's audio menu.
- Analog Audio (RCA) Connection: Connect the RCA audio cord from the TV's analog audio out ports to the "ANALOG" port on the back of the transmitter.
- 3.5mm Headphone Jack Connection: Connect a 3.5mm audio cord from the TV's headphone jack to the "ANALOG" port on the back of the transmitter.

Secure Mode / Open Mode: The system offers two operating modes:

Open Mode: This is the default mode, where the transmitter automatically pairs with any TV Ears headset within range. This mode is suitable for most users.
Secure Mode: This mode allows the user to manually pair the transmitter with a specific headset, preventing interference from other wireless devices. To activate Secure Mode, press and hold the "SECURE/OPEN" switch on the transmitter for 3-5 seconds until the blue LED flashes, then press the "ADD" button on the headset for 3-5 seconds. The headset and transmitter will pair, and the blue LED will turn solid.

Re-Activating Open Mode: To return to Open Mode, press the "SECURE/OPEN" switch on the transmitter for 3-5 seconds. The blue LED will flash, indicating Open Mode is active.

Charging the Headset: Place the headset on top of the transmitter base. The headset will begin charging automatically. The blue LED on the headset will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged. A full charge typically takes 2-3 hours.

Headset Controls: The headset features an on/off switch and a volume control dial, allowing users to adjust the listening volume independently of the TV's main volume.

Maintenance Features

Battery Replacement: The headset battery (Item Number-55810) is user-replaceable. To replace the battery:

Remove the headset from the power source.
Unscrew the three screws on the front side of the headset.
Carefully remove the front panel.
Disconnect the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring proper polarity.
Reattach the front panel and secure it with the screws.

Ear Tip Replacement: The system uses foam ear tips (Item Number - 40738). These ear tips should be replaced every 90 days for optimal performance and hygiene. A one-year supply (4 pairs) is available for purchase.

Warranty: The TV Ears Long Range Digital Headphone System comes with a 5-year limited warranty.

First year: Product failures are replaced once at the cost of shipping and handling.
Subsequent years (2-5): Product failures are replaced for 50% off MSRP.
Exclusions: Ear tips, batteries, and shipping charges are not covered.
Warranty Extension: Purchasing replacement parts at 50% off automatically extends the warranty into a new 5-year period.
