Overview

This document describes the Umbrosa Paraflex, a unique shade design umbrella system. The manual provides comprehensive instructions for installation, usage, and maintenance, along with important safety warnings and warranty information.

Function Description

The Umbrosa Paraflex is a modular umbrella system designed for versatile shade solutions. It offers various mounting options, including wall mounts, single poles, and multi-poles, allowing for flexible placement and coverage. The system features different holder types (Neo and Classic) and can accommodate multiple umbrellas on a single pole, providing extensive shade for various outdoor settings. The umbrellas are designed to be adjustable, with tilt and rotation functions (though these should be used with caution in windy conditions). The Paraflex system aims to provide a perfect cover tension for its canopies, which may require more force to close initially but will become easier with subsequent uses as the fabric adapts.

Usage Features

  • Installation: The manual provides detailed step-by-step instructions for installing various components, including tile bases, concrete anchors, wall mounts, and different pole types (single, multi, and 4+1). It highlights the importance of choosing a level and sturdy location and avoiding sloping or soft ground. A two-person team is recommended for assembly.
  • Holder Types: The Paraflex system supports both Neo and Classic holders, with specific installation procedures for each. The Neo holder installation is detailed on page 19, and the Classic holder installation on page 20.
  • Canopy Installation: Instructions for attaching the canopy are provided, including securing the ribs (8x) and the top cap.
  • Adjustability: The umbrella features tilt and rotating functions to maximize shade coverage. However, users are cautioned against using these functions during winds to prevent damage. The canopy can only be closed safely when it is not tilted.
  • Closing the Umbrella: The first time the umbrella is closed, more force may be required to achieve perfect cover tension. Subsequent uses will be easier as the fabric adapts. Users are advised never to force the ribs and to manually free them if resistance is encountered during opening.
  • Covering: An optional Paraflex cover (PFPRO0192CGREY19) is available for protection when not in use. It is important to tighten the cover firmly.

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance: Regular cleaning and protection of the umbrella surface are recommended.
  • Stainless Steel Maintenance: To prevent rusting, stainless steel components should be treated frequently and preventatively. Cleaning can be done with warm water and standard dishwashing detergents. A silicone spray can be applied to the dry surface for a protective layer. In aggressive environments (maritime climate, chlorine, acid rain, industrial or urban environments), more frequent cleaning is necessary. Light rust can be removed with a cloth and polishing paste.
  • Cleaning Instructions: The manual includes symbols for washing instructions (e.g., 40°C wash, no bleach, no tumble dry, no ironing, no dry cleaning) and general cleaning (bucket and brush, water, spray).
  • Maintenance Kits: Umbrosa offers a "Water Repellent Spray" and a "Maintenance Kit" for product care.
  • Warranty: The warranty conditions are available on the Umbrosa website. It is important to keep proof of purchase and the serial number for warranty claims. Wind damage is not covered under the limited warranty.
  • Disclaimer: All mounting kits and supports for inground fitting and hard surface installation should only be installed by a licensed contractor. Umbrosa disclaims liability for injuries or damages resulting from improper installation by the buyer.
