Overview

The Unger Professional Rinse 'N' Go Max™ system is a deionization system designed to produce low total dissolved solids (TDS) pure water for spot-free rinsing of vehicles, boats, RVs, and solar panels. It utilizes mixed bed ion exchange resin to remove impurities from ordinary tap water, resulting in water with less than 20 ppm TDS for general spot-free results and less than 10 ppm for spot-free glass. The system operates solely on tap water line pressure, typically ranging from 40-60 psi, and does not require external power.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Rinse 'N' Go Max™ system is to deionize tap water through an ion exchange process. Water flows into the system's lower connection port, travels upwards through the resin filter tank, and exits as pure water from the top connection. This pure water is intended for the final rinse of a vehicle after it has been washed with soap and water, eliminating the need for hand drying and preventing water spots or streaks. The system is designed for outdoor use and should be stored between 40°F and 100°F.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Water Quality: Produces water with less than 20 ppm TDS for spot-free rinsing, and less than 10 ppm for spot-free glass.
  • Operating Pressure: Operates with tap water line pressure, typically 40-60 psi. Do not exceed 115 psi (8 bar).
  • Flow Rate: Approximately 1.5 gallons per minute (GPM).
  • Resin Type: Mixed bed ion exchange resin, contained in a QuickChange™ Resin Filter Bag.
  • Storage Temperature: 40°F - 100°F. Do not allow the unit or resin to freeze.
  • TDS Meter: Includes an HS-1510 model TDS meter to measure water purity (ppm level). The meter uses two 1.5V 'LR44 type' button batteries.

Usage Features:

  • Ease of Use: Simple to set up and operate by connecting to standard garden hoses.
  • Spot-Free Rinse: Eliminates water spots and streaks, removing the need for hand drying.
  • TDS Meter Integration: A built-in TDS meter allows users to monitor the purity of the outgoing water. A reading of 20 ppm or higher indicates that the resin filter should be replaced.
  • Versatile Connections: Features an inlet connection at the bottom for water supply and an outlet connection at the top for filtered water, compatible with accessories like the Soap Blasting Nozzle or Water-fed Pole.
  • Upright Operation: The product must be used in an upright position for proper water flow through the resin.
  • Accessories: Can be used with Unger's Soap Blasting Nozzle and Water-fed Pole & Soft Wash Brush (sold separately or as part of a kit). The Soap Blasting Nozzle allows for soap application and then switching to pure water rinse.
  • Quick Connect Plugs: Includes various inlet and outlet adapters and plugs for easy hose connection and sealing.

Maintenance Features:

  • Resin Filter Replacement: The QuickChange™ Resin Filter Bag is designed for easy replacement when the resin is exhausted (indicated by TDS readings of 20 ppm or higher).
  • FastLock™ Lever: A yellow FastLock™ lever on the system head assembly allows for quick release of pressure and opening of the unit for resin replacement.
  • Draining: After each use, the unit should be drained by tilting it forward to allow water to exit through the input connection.
  • Storage: After draining, inlet and outlet connections should be sealed with plugs to prevent the resin from drying out. For long-term storage (over 6 months), the resin should be removed and discarded, and batteries should be removed from the TDS meter.
  • Resin Handling: Spilled resin is a slipping hazard and should be cleaned up immediately. Resin can cause skin and eye irritation, so contact should be avoided, and safety goggles should be worn during handling.
  • No Unauthorized Modifications: The use of non-Unger spare parts or unauthorized modifications is prohibited and can damage the unit.
  • Resin Storage: Store resin in a cool (40°F - 100°F), dry place in sealed containers.
  • Environmental Information: Outer packing material is recyclable (LDPE). Used resin filters should be disposed of according to applicable federal, state/provincial, and local laws and regulations.
  • TDS Meter Battery Replacement: The TDS meter's button batteries (LR44 type) should be replaced simultaneously when needed, ensuring proper alignment of positive and negative sides. Used batteries must be disposed of properly.
