This document describes the Varmilo VA Series VPT mechanical keyboard, a device designed for personalized customization and high-quality performance.

Function Description

The Varmilo VA Series VPT mechanical keyboard offers a range of functionalities for both wired and wireless operation, multimedia control, and customizable lighting effects. It utilizes Varmilo electrostatic capacitive mechanical switches or high-quality brand mechanical switches, ensuring a stable internal structure and tactile feedback.

Wireless Connectivity: The keyboard supports both Bluetooth and 2.4G wireless connections.

• Bluetooth: Up to three Bluetooth channels (F1, F2, F3) are available for pairing with different devices. The keyboard's Bluetooth name is "Varmilo VS - 1 / 2 / 3".
• 2.4G: A dedicated 2.4G connection (F4) is provided, with the receiver pre-paired at the factory.
• Mode Switching: The keyboard can switch between wired and wireless modes. Inserting the data cable automatically switches to wired mode. Unplugging the data cable switches to wireless mode, connecting to the last used wireless device.

Multimedia Functions: The keyboard includes dedicated Fn key combinations for multimedia control:

• Fn + F7: Last Song
• Fn + F8: Play/Pause
• Fn + F9: Next Song
• Fn + F10: Mute
• Fn + F11: Volume Down
• Fn + F12: Volume Up

Lighting Effects: The keyboard offers customizable lighting effects:

• Fn + Left Shift / Right Shift: Switch between different lighting effects.
• Fn + - / +: Switch between different colors.
• Fn + ← / →: Adjust the dynamic speed of the RGB backlight.
• Fn + ↓ / ↑: Adjust the brightness of the RGB backlight.
• Fn + X: Turn on/off the keyboard backlight.

Usage Features

Indicator Lights: The keyboard features several indicator lights to provide status feedback:

• Charging Indicator: On when charging, off when fully charged. Blinks slowly when the battery is low.
• Bluetooth Channel Indicator (F1, F2, F3): Blinks when waiting for connection, steady on after successful connection.
• 2.4G Indicator (F4): Blinks when waiting for pairing, steady on after successful connection.
• Keypad Area Indicator: On when the keypad area is active, off when inactive.
• Caps Lock Indicator: White light on when capitalized, off when lowercase.
• Freeze Lock Indicator: White light on when locked, off when normal.

Key Combinations: All Fn key combinations require pressing Fn first, then the desired function key. The buttons can be released in any order.

Wireless Mode Operation:

• Turn On/Off Wireless Mode: Long press Fn + Insert for 3 seconds. After turning on, the keyboard will default to connecting to the last connected wireless device. If no device is connected, the corresponding channel indicator will blink.
• Bluetooth Connection: Press Fn + F1 / F2 / F3 (for channels 1/2/3 respectively). The F1/F2/F3 key light will blink slowly, indicating it's waiting for Bluetooth pairing.
• Clear Bluetooth Device: Long press Fn + F1 / F2 / F3 for 5 seconds to clear the currently connected device and re-enter pairing mode.
• 2.4G Connection: Press Fn + F4. The F4 key light will blink slowly, indicating it's waiting for 2.4G connection. After successful connection, the F4 key light will be steady on.
• Clear 2.4G Receiver: Long press Fn + F4 for 5 seconds to clear the currently paired 2.4G receiver. The F4 light will flash. A new 2.4G receiver can then be plugged in for pairing.

Latency Adjustment: Long press Fn + 1 / 2 / 3 (in the main key area) for 3 seconds to set the keyboard delay to Fast, Normal, or Slow mode. The Caps Lock light will flash three times to confirm the setting. The factory default is Normal mode.

Other Functions:

• Lock/Unlock Win Key: Press Fn + Win.
• Swap Caps Lock and Left Ctrl: Long press Fn + Left Ctrl for 3 seconds. The Caps Lock light will flash three times. To swap back, long press Fn + Caps Lock for 3 seconds.
• Reset Keyboard to Factory Settings: Press Fn + D + Backspace. The Caps Lock light will flash three times.
• Reset Key Values, Lighting Effects, and Connection History to Factory Settings: Long press Fn + D for 3 seconds. The Caps Lock light will flash three times.

Low Battery Warning: The charging indicator light will slowly flash when the battery is low. If the keyboard is not charged within 10 minutes, it will power off automatically.

Maintenance Features

Daily Maintenance: To clean the keyboard:

1. Use a keycap puller to remove the keycaps.
2. Invert the keyboard and gently pat the back to remove debris.
3. Use a brush to clean any remaining debris or dust from the keyboard.
4. If there is still residue, wipe with a cotton cloth dipped in alcohol until clean.
5. Place the keyboard in a cool, ventilated area to dry. During use, avoid frequent plugging/unplugging, pulling, or twisting the keyboard cable, as this can easily loosen or detach the keyboard port.

Warranty Service Information:

• Varmilo provides a one-year free warranty service for keyboards and three months for accessories from the date of order receipt.
• The warranty period is based on the warranty card and the date of purchase. Please keep the purchase voucher (invoice, receipt) and e-commerce purchase information as proof of warranty.
• Free warranty service is only applicable to non-human quality problems under normal use. The free warranty service cannot be provided if the product is damaged due to human factors or force majeure. Human factors include external damage (impact, scraping, etc.), liquid (water, beverage, etc.), unauthorized disassembling, removing the serial number or warranty sticker, etc. Force majeure includes damage caused by flood, dampness, rodent damage, and other natural disasters.
• For products with printed patterns on the cases, please avoid wiping with alcohol and use clean water or alcohol-free cleaning products.

Maintenance Instructions:

• During the warranty period, you can enjoy free warranty service. If the warranty period is exceeded, Varmilo will still provide paid maintenance service.
• Customers can contact the e-commerce store or offline store where they purchased the products for warranty, or visit the official Varmilo website (https://keyboard.varmilo.com) for maintenance.

Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. The device has been evaluated to meet general RF exposure statement. The device can be used in portable exposure condition without restriction.
