Through design-related measures – mainly
in the area of the fuel-injection and ignition
systems – the proportion of noxious
materials in the exhaust, such as carbon
monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and
nitrogen oxides (NO

), is reduced to a
minimum.
