The Vax Power Dehumidifier, available in models DCS2V1MP and DCS3V1HP, is designed for household use to efficiently reduce moisture and humidity. It is not intended for commercial or industrial applications.
Function Description:
This appliance extracts moisture from the air, helping to prevent dampness, mold, and mildew in your home. It features various operating modes to suit different needs, including continuous dehumidification, clothes drying, and quiet night operation. The dehumidifier uses a Smart Air Sensor technology to automatically monitor room humidity and adjust its extraction rate accordingly.

Usage Features:
- Control Panel: The dehumidifier features a touch-sensitive control panel with LED indicator lights that illuminate when functions are selected. It displays current humidity, set humidity, and time delay.
- On/Off Button: Powers the appliance on or off.
- Timer Function: Allows users to set a delay for switching off the appliance, in 1-hour increments up to a maximum of 24 hours. In clothes drying mode, the timer is limited to a maximum of 12 hours.
- Program Modes: Four distinct operating modes can be selected using the mode/program button:
- Fan Only Mode: Operates the fan at high speed without compressor or extraction, ideal for circulating air in a room during summer or winter.
- Clothes Drying Mode: Operates the fan at high speed and turns on the compressor, ignoring user humidity settings. It runs for a maximum of four hours to prevent over-drying and potential property damage, suitable for drying clothes in a small/medium-sized room.
- Daily Mode (Automatic): Designed for general home dehumidification. Users can set a target humidity level between 30% and 80% (in 5% increments). The appliance automatically adjusts fan speed (high or low) based on the target and actual humidity difference. It will switch off and turn back on as needed to maintain the set level.
- Night Mode (Automatic): Specifically for night-time dehumidification. Users can set a target humidity level between 30% and 80%. The dehumidifier operates in low fan mode, LED lights power off, and the audio tank full alert is disabled to minimize disturbance.
- Humidity Adjustment: In Daily and Night modes, target humidity levels can be adjusted using the up and down arrow buttons.
- Smart Air Sensor Technology: Automatically monitors room humidity and adjusts the extraction rate. The LED indicator light on the front changes color to reflect humidity levels:
- Blue light: Humidity less than 50%.
- Green light: Ideal humidity between 50% and 70%.
- Red light: High humidity, greater than 70%.
- Red flashing light: Water tank is full and needs emptying.
- Adjustable Air Outlet Cover: The air outlet cover should always be open during use. It can be manually adjusted to direct airflow and minimize disruption.
- Continuous Drainage (Optional): The dehumidifier can be set up for continuous drainage using the included hose. The water tank must remain fitted. The hose should be positioned lower than the drainage port to allow gravity flow to a floor drain or standpipe, preventing water collection in the internal tank.
- Placement: For best performance, position the appliance on a flat, stable, solid surface, away from heat sources and open windows. Maintain a safe distance from walls, furniture, and clothing (at least 20cm from the front/back, 30cm from the top, and 10cm from the sides). Adequate ventilation, such as open internal doors, helps the dehumidifier provide best coverage.
Maintenance Features:
- Water Tank Emptying: The 5.5-liter water tank needs to be emptied when full, indicated by a red flashing light on the control panel. The appliance will operate for several minutes and then shut down until the tank is emptied. To empty, pull the release handles on either side of the tank, remove it from the back of the appliance, carry it by the handle, and pour water over a sink. Rinse the tank with water, wipe dry, and refit. The water tank cover is not detachable.
- Filter Cleaning: The filter should be cleaned every two weeks and replaced every 6 months, depending on usage. Do not operate the dehumidifier without the filter correctly fitted. To clean, lift the air inlet grill/filter cover from the back of the dehumidifier, separate the filter and cover. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft dusting brush or tap the filter over a bin to remove dust. Wash the filter under running water (max 40 degrees Celsius) and allow it to dry completely for 24 hours before refitting. Do not clean in a dishwasher.
- Appliance Cleaning: Keep all grills and openings clear of dust and debris. Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a clean, dry cloth.
- Storage: If storing the appliance for a long period, unplug it, empty and dry the water tank, clean the filter, and store it upright in a room temperature environment away from direct sunlight and freezing conditions.
