VECTOR GRAPHIC, INC.
The
SAVE command
copies
"pages" (256-byte blocks) onto disk from
the
TPA
'and names this file
with
a
specified
unambiguous
file
name.
In
the
CP
1M
distribution
system,
the
TPA
starts
at
lOOH
(hexadecimaI), which is the second
page
of
memory;
therefore,
if
the
user's program occupies the
area
from
100R
through 2FFH, the
SAVE
command must specify two
(2)
pages 9f memory. The
machine
code
file
can
be
subsequently
loaded
and
execu
fed.
The
SAVE
command
can
also
specify
a disk drive in the <ufn> portion of
the
command.
Following are examples
of
the
SAVE
command:
SAVE
3

the
data
located
at
RAM
addresses
100B
through 3PPH
to
a
file
named X.COM.
SAVE
40 C
Copies
100B
through
28FFB
to
a
file
named
'c'
(note
that
28
is
the
page
count
in
28FFB
and
that
28B
=
2x16+8 =40 decimal)..
SAVE
4
x.y
. Copies 100B
through
4FFB
to
a
file
named

pages
(lOOB
through

named ZOT.COM on Drive B.
The
USER n
Command
USER
nallows
you
to
divide
the
user
space
within
a
disk
into
several
sections. User
areas
are
numbered
0
to
15
(n
stands
for
the
various
user
areas).
This command is useful
if
you
are
going
to
share
your disk with
other
users, or
if
you need
to
have
separate
compartments within your disk
to
store
files.
You
can
think
of
user
areas
as
different
drawers in the same filing
cabinet.
As
you probably know by now, when you
start
up
CP
1M,
it
assumes
that
you
are
in user
O.
You must
tell
it
that
you
want
to
go
to
another
user
area.
FORMAT:
USER
n [RETURN)
EXAMPLE:
A>USER
3 [RETURN)
RESULT:
CP
1M
will
take
you
to
user
area
three.
