1. Enter the command line, FORMAT P [RETURN]. The screen will display:
DISK FORMATI'ER VERSION LX
WARNIlfG - THIS PROCEDURE ERASES DATA.
PRESS [RETURN] TO CONTINUE, [CTRL C] TO ABORT -
If you press a [RETURN], the program will automatically determine the
type of hard drive used and prompt you with the following (replacing XX
with the disk capacity).
DRIVE TO BE PORMA'I'TBD IS A xx MBYTE WINCHESTER
ENTER [Y} IF CORRECT:
2. Enter Y [RETURN] if the capacity is correct. If you enter anything but
Y, the screen wil prompt you with:

Enter the number corresponding to the type of drive used, folowed by a
[RETURN! NOTE: Standard 5 Mbyte drive on the Vector 4 is a double
plAtter.
3. For both 5 and 10 Mbyte drives, the program will prompt you to:
SBI..ECl': [A] SOBFACES 0,1
[B] SOBFACES 2,3
[C] ALL SllBPACES
SBI..ECl' SOBFACES P'BCM ABOVE:
Enter the selection you need to use. Note that this allows you the
option of formatting only selected logical drives.
4. The screen will display:
WARNIlfG - PROCEDURE ERASES DATA,
PRESS [RETURN] TO BEGlR, [CTRL C] TO ABORT
Press [CTRL C] to stop the program and save the information you need. (If
you still need to format the disk, copy the required files onto a floppy
diskette and return
to Step 1.) Otherwise press [RETURN].
