VECTOR 4 OPERATING COMMANDS

Enter
your
choice
for
the
auto
command.
You
would enter 0
to
clear
any command already selected, 1,
2,
or 3 according
to
the
following:
"Cold"
boot
only
[1]:
the auto
command
will execute only when you first
tum
on the power, or when
you
boot
after
pressing the
[RESET]
button,
enter
BYE, or run another program which leaves through a cold boot.
If
you want the program
to
run whenever you
turn
the
system on,
this
is
the option to select.
"Warm"
boot
only [2]:
the
auto
command will
execute
only when a
program is run which leaves the .system, clears and
then
restores
only a
portion of system
memory
(a "warm" boot).
Cold and
warm
boot
[3]:
command will
execute
any
time
a program is
finished
and
every
time
you
boot
the
system.
Option
3
is
as nearly
permanent
a;
it
is pa;sible
to
get
with a computer, so use
it
carefully
or
not
at
all.
3. Once you have entered your choice, the screen will prompt you to:
ENTER
AUTO COMMAND STRING:
Here,
you enter the entire
command
you want
to
run
after
booti~.
Since our
example uses the
CONFIG
program,
let's
assume
that
you wish
to
select
List
Device 2 (the Vector
7700
printer).
You
would enter:
CONFIG 2 [RETURN]
From now
on,
the system will automatically select and
attach
the Vector
7700
printer whenever
you
boot.
