Connect the columns of Square Poles to each other using Link Poles (L1, L2, L3) and Curved Poles (C1, C2, C3.) For placement,
refer to the diagrams, noting that horizontal poles alternate. Insert the larger Interior Plugs (H7) into the holes on the sides
that the Links will connect to, and insert the smaller Exterior Plugs (H8) into the holes on the outside. These plugs keep
moisture from geing into the trellis parts. Then insert H3 bolts through the Square Poles and into Link Poles, and tighten.

Do you have a question about the vego garden VWT35 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Vego Garden Wall Trellis System is a modular and customizable support structure designed to assist climbing plants in various garden bed configurations. It functions by providing a sturdy framework for vines and other climbing vegetation to grow upon, maximizing vertical gardening space and promoting healthier plant growth by improving air circulation and sun exposure.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Vego Garden Wall Trellis System is to offer vertical support for climbing plants. This system is designed to be integrated with Vego Garden raised beds, allowing gardeners to expand their growing capacity upwards. It helps manage plant growth, prevents plants from sprawling, and can enhance the aesthetic appeal of a garden. The modular design allows for various configurations to suit different plant types and garden bed sizes, from small round beds to large rectangular ones. The trellis system guides plant growth, making harvesting easier and reducing the risk of disease by keeping foliage off the ground.

Important Technical Specifications:

The system is constructed from metal panels, which are durable and designed for outdoor use. The components include:

  • Arch Poles (A1, B1, B2): These form the main vertical structure of the trellis. A1 poles are the longest square poles, while B1 and B2 poles are shorter, used for specific sections or configurations.
  • Link Poles (L1, L2, L3): These horizontal poles connect the vertical square poles, creating the grid-like structure for plants to climb.
  • Curved Poles (C1, C2, C3): These are also horizontal poles, specifically designed for connecting square poles in curved or round garden bed configurations.
  • Connectors (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5):
    • P1 (Upper Notched Connector): Attaches to the upper part of the garden bed, featuring a notched cutout.
    • P2 (Lower Connector): Attaches to the lower part of the garden bed, with a smooth cutout.
    • P3 (Left Connector Cap) and P4 (Right Connector Cap): These caps are used for finishing the ends of horizontal connections.
    • P5 (Top Covers): These cap the top of the vertical square poles (A1, B1, B2) to prevent moisture ingress and provide a finished look.
  • Hardware: The system uses various bolts (H2, H3, H4), nuts (H1, H5), and plugs (H6, H7, H8) for secure assembly and to protect against moisture.
    • H1 (M6 Flange Cap Nut) and H5 (M6 Flange Standard Nut): Used to secure bolts.
    • H2 (M6x28 Bolts), H3 (M6x30 Bolts), H4 (M6x42 Bolts): Different length bolts for various connection points.
    • H6 (Plug Insert): Used to fill remaining empty holes in the trellis structure.
    • H7 (Interior Plug) and H8 (Exterior Plug): These plugs are specifically designed to be inserted into the holes of the square poles where link or curved poles connect, preventing moisture from entering the trellis parts.
  • Tools: The assembly requires a T1 Wrench and a T2 Hex Key, which are included.

The system is compatible with various Vego Garden raised bed models, including VWT35, VWT40, VWT50, VWT65, VWT2080, VWT4080, VWT95, and VWTRB35, covering sizes from 2.0ft x 3.5ft to 4.0ft x 8.0ft, and round 3.5ft beds. The specific parts and quantities vary depending on the model purchased.

Usage Features:

  • Modular Design: The system is highly customizable, allowing for different configurations such as triple-section trellises for round beds, triple-section trellises for rectangle beds, and five-section trellises for rectangular beds. This adaptability ensures it can fit various garden bed sizes and shapes.
  • Easy Assembly: The manual provides clear, step-by-step instructions for assembly. Connectors (P1/P2) are first attached to the garden bed using H2 bolts. Then, square poles (A1) are slid into the connectors and secured with H4 bolts. Remaining square poles (A1, B1, B2) are stacked, aligning pre-drilled holes, and capped with P5 Top Covers. Link poles (L1, L2, L3) and curved poles (C1, C2, C3) are then attached to the square poles using H3 bolts, with H7 interior plugs and H8 exterior plugs to seal connections. Finally, H6 plug inserts are used to fill any remaining empty holes.
  • Vertical Gardening: Facilitates vertical growth, which is ideal for small spaces, increasing yield, and improving plant health by enhancing air circulation and sun exposure.
  • Moisture Protection: The use of H7 interior and H8 exterior plugs, along with P5 top covers, is a key feature designed to prevent moisture from entering the trellis components, thereby extending the lifespan of the system.
  • Plant Support: The grid-like structure provides ample points for plants to grip and climb, and the manual suggests using hemp ropes (not included but recommended) for additional support, especially for heavy vines.

Maintenance Features:

  • Durability: Constructed from metal panels, the system is designed to withstand outdoor conditions.
  • Moisture Sealing: The inclusion of various plugs (H6, H7, H8) and top covers (P5) is a proactive maintenance feature, preventing water ingress into the hollow poles, which helps to prevent internal corrosion and prolong the life of the trellis.
  • Cleaning: While not explicitly detailed, the metal construction suggests easy cleaning with water and mild soap if needed.
  • Safety Precautions: The manual includes a caution about sharp edges on metal panels, recommending the use of protective equipment like gloves and closed-toe shoes during assembly and handling. It also notes a choking hazard for small parts, advising to keep the product away from children.

Overall, the Vego Garden Wall Trellis System is a robust, versatile, and user-friendly solution for gardeners looking to maximize their growing space and provide optimal support for climbing plants. Its modular design, ease of assembly, and thoughtful features for durability and plant health make it a valuable addition to any Vego Garden raised bed setup.
