Upon first use or anytime the filter is dry,
uncap both ends and stand it up in safe water
(keeping mouthpiece out of water and dry) for
20 seconds to allow water to prime the filter.
Then take 5 quick sips to get water flowing.
When returning from a hiking trip, rinse with
safe tap water, uncap both ends, and let dry
before placing it away in storage.
