Overview

The VEVOR Chicken Plucker Machine, model TM-5, is designed to simplify the feather removal process for poultry, including chickens, ducks, and geese. This robust device aims to provide an efficient and less labor-intensive alternative to manual plucking, making it suitable for small-scale farming or personal use.

Function Description

The primary function of the VEVOR Chicken Plucker Machine is to quickly and effectively remove feathers from slaughtered poultry. It operates by utilizing a rotating drum lined with numerous rubber fingers. When the machine is activated and poultry is placed inside, the rotation of the drum, combined with the flexible action of the rubber fingers, works to dislodge feathers from the bird's skin.

To optimize the plucking process, the machine incorporates a water drainage system. As feathers are removed, water can be added to the drum, which helps to wash away the dislodged feathers and dirt, keeping the plucking area clean and preventing feather accumulation. This continuous rinsing action ensures a more hygienic and efficient operation, with the dirty water and feathers flowing out through a dedicated drain connection. The design allows for the collection and potential recycling of this water, promoting environmental responsibility.

The machine is equipped with an electric motor that drives the rotation of the plucking drum. A switch controls the operation, allowing users to start and stop the machine as needed. For safety, it is crucial to ensure the power supply is properly grounded and to install a leakage switch. The machine also features an overload protection function, indicated by a temperature control switch, which helps prevent damage from excessive heat or strain during operation.

Usage Features

Operating the VEVOR Chicken Plucker Machine involves a series of preparatory steps to ensure optimal feather removal. Before plucking, the poultry must be properly prepared. This begins with slaughtering the chicken, ensuring the knife edge is as small as possible to minimize skin damage. Following slaughter, the chicken should be soaked in warm water, ideally around 30°C, to thoroughly wet the feathers. Adding a small amount of salt to this warm water can further help prevent skin damage during depilation.

The next crucial step is scalding. The soaked chicken should be immersed in hot water, approximately 70°C, and stirred with a wooden stick to ensure even heating. This scalding process is vital as it loosens the feather follicles, making them easier to remove. Once properly scalded, 1 to 4 chickens can be placed into the plucker machine at a time, depending on their size and the machine's capacity.

To begin the plucking process, the user presses the "1" switch key to start the machine. While the machine is running, water should be continuously added to the poultry. This water assists in washing away the feathers and dirt as they are removed, ensuring they flow out through the drain. The machine is designed to operate for approximately 2-3 minutes, after which the feathers should be largely removed, and the chicken can be taken out. For final cleaning, a high-pressure nozzle connected to a water pipe can be used to spray and rinse off any remaining poultry feathers and dirt.

The machine's design includes wheels and a handle, making it relatively easy to move and position as needed. The assembly process is straightforward, involving the installation of the drain pipe, wheels, and handle, followed by securing the support legs to the baseplate. Each component is designed for ease of installation, typically requiring basic tools like a wrench and a screwdriver.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the VEVOR Chicken Plucker Machine is essential for its longevity and continued efficient operation. The machine is constructed from stainless steel, which is resistant to rust, simplifying the cleaning process. After each use, it is recommended to clean the machine with tap water and wipe it down to remove any feather residue and dirt. While the bucket should be washed with water, direct spraying with a high-pressure pipe should be avoided to prevent potential damage to internal components.

Timely cleaning is crucial not only for the machine's hygiene but also for environmental protection. The feathers and dirt removed during plucking should be collected with the water flow and disposed of properly to prevent environmental pollution or harm. The water used during the plucking process can be recycled, but it should be removed from the machine when not in use to prevent stagnation and potential bacterial growth.

For storage, the machine should be kept out of reach of children. When the chicken plucker is not in use for extended periods, it should be stored in a dry, non-corrosive environment. It is important to avoid contact with corrosive substances, as these can damage the product's materials and components. Regular inspection of the rubber fingers is also recommended, as they are key to the plucking action. If any rubber fingers are lost or damaged, they should be replaced to maintain optimal de-feathering performance.

In case of operational issues, the machine includes troubleshooting guidelines. For instance, if the machine sounds abnormal during operation, it should be immediately stopped for inspection to identify and eliminate the fault before resuming work. If the machine does not rotate, common causes include an improperly plugged power cord, the switch not being pressed, or a locked rotor protection in progress. In the latter case, removing any obstruction and waiting for about 30 seconds should resolve the issue. Uneven scalding temperature can lead to incomplete de-feathering, highlighting the importance of proper poultry preparation.
